# Create a new tax rate

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

- `x-monite-entity-id` (string, required) — The ID of the entity that owns the requested resource.

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects an object.

- `code` (string, optional) — Code for the tax rate from the accounting platform
- `description` (string, optional) — Description of the tax rate
- `effective_tax_rate` (integer, optional) — Effective tax rate in percent [minor units](https://docs.monite.com/references/currencies#minor-units). Example: 12.5% is 1250.
- `name` (string, optional) — Name of the tax rate

- `name` (string, optional)
- `status` (string, optional)
- `total_tax_rate` (integer, optional) — Total (not compounded) sum of the components of a tax rate in [minor units](https://docs.monite.com/references/currencies#minor-units). Example: 12.5% is 1250.
